Introduction to Greek Course: Opinions

Opinions of Students Respected

I do respect the opinions of my students, especially pertaining to the way this course is being directed. I realize people come from different backgrounds, and everyone does not look at the same situation the same way, including the efficiency of the manner and reciprocation of this course.

You may have to bear with the way the tutor does things, and, of course, he is not immune or incapable of making mistakes.

Even though it may seem a little discouraging at times because of the lack of direct communication between the tutor and student, it will take trust and persistence on the student's part.

The course is geared, so to speak, in a way that will allow the tutor to keep an organized database (this is a task) and give the students adequate help. Without a database, it would be very difficult to teach several students at the same time.

Many times you may be asked to answer a question with only a "yes" or "no" answer (even this requires time and effort on the tutor's part to enter this information in the database). Although the tutor would like to have a conversation at times with one or several of the students, time does not always allow this. The tutor's time must be well organized and directed toward the lessons.

Because the time and effort of the tutor is limited, many questions, if they do not directly pertain to the Greek course, may not always be answered. If this should happen, continue on with the lessons. It is not always an easy job to tutor students in a way everybody will be satisfied, but it can be done to the student's benefit, with persistence.
