1st word

Other Information Look up this word in your lexicon--this will help you understand how the word is used. You may have to use your Strong's for this. Use the first part of the book. It is like an English dictionary. Now, look up the word even. Several books and verses of the Bible are listed for this word. We are using Luke; so find its listing--Lu. Now look for the verse 1:2. There it is! It has a reference number of 2531.

Now, we must turn to the Greek lexicon in Strong's. Find 2531. There it is: kaqws

You will learn how to find the next word using the Greek alphabet alone on the next line.

  2nd word
Now look up the word in your analytical lexicon. You must exercise your knowledge of the Greek alphabet. First, you will look under the p section. Then you will need to find the pa's. Keep looking for each letter of the word in your text. You should finally come up with paredosan.

This word is 3rd person, plural, 2nd aorist, indicative, active. Big difference from Strong's! Well, now you can see why we use two lexicons.

You can gain speed in looking up vocabulary words through practise.

Tell me all the information that you can about the word. Save your work and notes for future use.

Tell me the meaning of this word. Use your Strong's Concordance. You can find it by looking up the reference number 3860. Notice that it gives you paradidomi (paradidomee)1st person, singular, indicative--this is a different form of the same basic word than is actually used in the text. That is why you will need an analytical lexicon also, at least until you learn how to distinguish the different verb forms.

  3rd word

Look this up. Use either or both lexicons.

Make notes about the information concerning this word. This will be expected from you concerning every word as we go.
